Last year, R.E.M. members gathered on stage for the first time in 17 years at 40 Watt Club but didn't perform. However, during a recent return visit by tribute band members Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy, R.E.M. made a surprise appearance, performing 'Pretty Persuasion.' This was a notable event for Shannon, who had been covering their songs for years. Although it was the only song where Stipe joined, other members rotated in and out during the 32-song set, reviving Narducy and Shannon's tribute performances.
