San Francisco marks the 50th anniversary of the first giant menorah outside Israel, a Bill Graham project that inspired thousands worldwide. The event runs eight nights from December 14–22, 2025 in Union Square with nightly menorah lightings, live music, family activities, and community honors. The opening Bill Graham Menorah Day features children's crafts, a Chanukah show by Isaac Zones, performances including Shamati and the Bill Graham All Stars, and a lighting honoring civic and community leaders. Subsequent nights honor families, the SFPD, and the Russian Jewish speaking community.
