San Francisco supervisors are considering a resolution to name a street in Golden Gate Park Claude the Albino Alligator Way. Supervisor Myrna Melgar introduced the resolution during the Board of Supervisors meeting to honor Claude, a 30-year-old albino alligator from the California Academy of Sciences who died two weeks ago from liver cancer. A public poll will determine which nearby street receives the name. Candidate streets include blocks of 8th and 10th Avenues, segments of Bowl Drive and Music Concourse Drive, and an unnamed street near the Music Concourse. Results will be forwarded to the Recreation and Parks commission.
