To this point, that was one of the cooler things I've ever done. Guys who I've watched growing up and guys who I've always looked up to all in one spot. It was a great experience for me and I'm glad I got the opportunity to play out there for eight innings.
The goal is always to get a promotion to each affiliate. You take that affiliate and go step-by-step. But the end goal, that's for sure to get to Oracle. ... I also just (want) to keep being me - playing, take it day-by-day, being where my feet are at.
He's looked good when he's been in there. I've really liked the looseness to his swing. I think the baserunning and defense is something that, I don't want to say I undervalued it, but it's been a pleasant surprise to me that he's a well-rounded player.
It just seemed like a fun way to encourage people to take advantage of our service and have some fun with the rivalry. I think it just speaks to the fact that, no matter what team you're rooting for, it's a lot easier to be able to take transit to get to the game. Driving is just a rough way to get to it.
We were so happy to see Alysa Liu win the gold medal in Milan yesterday. My husband just showed me that in 2019 she skated to my song Don't Rain on My Parade. I'm so proud of her. Don't Rain on my Parade is the song Streisand made famous in the Broadway musical, Funny Girl, and in its 1968 film adaptation, for which she won the Academy Award for best actress.
Weeks before spring training, they signed center fielder Harrison Bader to a two-year, $20.5 million deal, then moved Jung Hoo Lee to right field. Bader isn't in the same class of free agent as Kyle Tucker or Cody Bellinger, but he improves an outfield defense that was among the worst in the majors. And if Lee and Heliot Ramos can take leaps forward, this outfield could emerge as one of the better units in the National League.
A year ago, Devers was at the center of an uncomfortable saga in Boston. Devers said he wouldn't move off third base to accommodate free-agent Alex Bregman, eventually relented, then declined to move to first base when an injury-induced opening emerged.
Brennan, 28, has played 269 games over four major-league seasons with the Cleveland Guardians, posting a career .267/.307/.373 slash line (90 OPS+) with 14 home runs and 19 stolen bases. We've liked him for some time, said general manager Zack Minasian. Plays the game really hard. Gritty, grindy type. Controls the strike zone, moves around the outfield mostly the corner outfield spots.
A year ago, Landen Roupp entered camp in competition for the fifth spot in the Giants' rotation with Hayden Birdsong and Landen Roupp a spot he ended up winning. His spot in the rotation has long been secure, but Roupp isn't changing anything ahead of his third major league season. I'm just thinking of it the same way, trying to fight for my spot, Roupp said. Even if I do have the spot, I'm going to attack it like I don't.
