Bruce Arena, head coach of the San Jose Earthquakes, expressed confidence in his team's readiness for a challenging week, following their U.S. Open Cup win against the Portland Timbers. With the Earthquakes currently eighth in the Western Conference, they are looking to build on an unbeaten streak of six games. Opponents Houston Dynamo, just two points below them, lost their recent cup match but have been strong in league play. Both teams are focused on their upcoming match, vying to improve their standings.
We're real pleased. 120 minutes is challenging, but we've got to get our team recovered for Saturday and our next opponents, Houston, who played after us, so that'll be interesting.
We won't cry too long about that game. We have a quick one in San Jose and then New York. So, we're back to the league.
