Teresa Saldana, who previously sold Talavera pottery from a van, opened El Bazar Azteca in San Jose. The colorful ceramic pieces resonate with Mexican culture and have garnered a devoted clientele. Saldana, originally from Jalisco, pursued her dream while juggling jobs and family responsibilities. Her journey started with a visit from her brother-in-law, a pottery maker, which inspired her to start her business. Talavera pottery, with its vibrant designs and artisanal craftsmanship, reflects a significant cultural heritage and dedication.
"I am probably one of her first customers," devoted customer Amanda Keith told San José Spotlight. "I kept coming back because of their beautiful display, the quality of the pottery and the pride they take in what they do. They are just spectacular."
