Meteorologist Chris Tomer, based in Denver, is noted for high forecast accuracy and posts mountain weather forecast videos showing likely snow distribution across North America. The current storm track favors the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia for the heaviest snowfall through February 6. Warmer air in those systems will raise rain/snow lines at higher elevations, producing rain or mixed precipitation above certain heights. Much of the rest of the western United States is seeing reduced snowfall and developing conditions of a snow drought, leaving many ranges waiting for substantial snow events.
