Arteta proud of Lewis-Skelly for England call-up and provides Gabriel update
"Coming from someone like Thomas [Tuchel], who I know very well, for him to describe Myles in that way is credit to the boy, family and everybody who has been a part of of his education. Myles has probably not played as many minutes as he would have liked, but he is professional in the way he has been engaging with his team and he gives you the possibility to count on him."
"We will have to wait and see after training [with Gabriel]. We will have to see how everyone is, but we are not too concerned about him. [Piero Hincapie] will be available after the international break, this game came too fast. Kai [Havertz], Noni [Madueke] and Gabi [Jesus] are the same."
Mikel Arteta praised Myles Lewis-Skelly after the defender earned a recall to the England squad for the October fixtures against Wales and Latvia. Arteta credited Thomas Tuchel, the player’s family and his wider education for Lewis-Skelly’s development. Arteta noted the youngster has not played as many minutes as he might have liked but has remained professional, engaged and a dependable option. Regarding injuries, Arteta said Gabriel’s status will be clarified after training and is not a major concern, that Piero Hincapie will be available after the international break, and that Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Jesus share the same situation.
