Liam Rosenior defended Chelsea's cautious approach against Arsenal and described being a pundit as "easy" after dismissing criticism. Chelsea contained possession and largely sat deep until the final 15 minutes, when they pressed for an equaliser but failed to score. Arsenal secured a late winner through former Chelsea forward Kai Havertz to prevail 1-0 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate. The second leg was physical with limited penalty-box action, favouring the home side. Chelsea registered two shots on target, one seriously testing goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Paul Merson called the display 'flabbergasting' and accused Chelsea of playing in second gear.
