Norwich sign QPR midfielder Field on loan
"Norwich City have signed midfielder Sam Field on loan from Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers for the remainder of the season. The 27-year-old will provide additional cover for head coach Philippe Clement following the loss of Pelle Mattsson for "several weeks" with an ankle injury. He is Norwich's fifth January signing, following Mohammed Toure, Ali Ahmed, Paris Maghoma and left-back Harry Amass - though the latter suffered a training injury after only one appearance."
""I'm desperate to play football. The first half of the year hasn't gone the way I'd like it to and Norwich expressed an interest. It was an opportunity that sounded perfect for me," said Field, who has also played for West Brom and Charlton. Norwich are currently four points clear of the relegation zone and take on fellow strugglers Blackburn Rovers at Carrow Road on Saturday."
""With well over 200 Championship appearances under his belt, in addition to more than 20 in the Premier League, Sam brings with him a wealth of experience at this level and beyond," said Norwich sporting director Ben Knapper. "That will be invaluable for us over the second half of the season in what we know is a young group that we have assembled.""
