Spurs turn down takeover bid from tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick
"This unsolicited and unnecessary interest does nothing to change the family's resolve and commitment to do whatever it takes to drive success on the pitch. The club is not for sale."
"Due to all the press speculation, my legal counsel has advised me to clarify the situation. Unfortunately, I will not be DJing an absolute banger of a drum & bass set at the Ministry of Sound tomorrow."
Tottenham Hotspur turned down unsolicited takeover interest from a United States consortium led by Brooklyn Earick. Significant boardroom change occurred earlier this year with Daniel Levy removed as chair and a new leadership team installed, including Vinai Venkatesham as chief executive and Peter Charrington as nonexecutive chair. Two other takeover approaches by PCP International Finance and a Firehawk Holdings Limited consortium were also rebuffed. The Lewis family, increasingly influential through Vivienne and Charles Lewis, state the club is not for sale while remaining open to fresh investment to fund expansion and on-pitch success.
