"Finally, they've revealed the Mobile Eccentric Droid, a.k.a. MobED, a mobility robot platform tailored for a diverse range of industrial and everyday-use applications. The bot was shown off at the International Robot Exhibition 2025 (iREX 2025) in Tokyo. MobED is built around three pillars: Adaptive Mobility (hardware), Intuitive Autonomy (software), and Infinite Journey (applications), enabling robust movement, navigation, and task performance across environments. The platform uses drive-and-life (DnL) modules that integrate steering, driving, and height adjustment into portable units, and incorporates adaptive motion technology for precise posture control on varied terrain while carrying heavy loads. Demonstrated at iREX 2025 in Tokyo, MobED targets tasks ranging from deliveries and outdoor gear transport to golf caddying and film support, with sales planned for the first half of 2026.
