"Bush was pushed out at NBC for being the co-occupant of the bus in which Trump riffed about sexual assault on a hot mic. I'm automatically attracted to beautiful women I just start kissing them, it's like a magnet. I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab 'em by the p*ssy. You can do any of that, Trump said, to uncomfortable laughter from the host."
"BILLY BUSH: If people want to say that I'm a terrible person for being in that room and not doing more in this situation then. Good for you, you high and mighty person. You self-righteous warrior, good for you. JIM ACOSTA: But Billy, I mean, is it being high and mighty? I mean BILLY BUSH: No, it's just getting pissed off that he got away with it. So you're mad at me? Like, come on, give me a break!"
Billy Bush bristled when Jim Acosta repeatedly asked why he did not curse out Donald Trump during the Access Hollywood bus tape. Bush was pushed out at NBC for being on the bus where Trump bragged about sexual assault and laughed with hosts. Bush said the offending words did not register for him and grew impatient with Acosta's persistence. He called critics 'high and mighty' and 'self-righteous', argued he was in a difficult situation, and said he was there to secure an interview. Acosta countered that Bush had an opportunity to hold Trump accountable and noted the possibility that confronting Trump might have led to immediate firing.
