"to "consult with members, research best practices and provide recommendations" on how to approach the upcoming contest"
""We are continuing the important work of rebuilding and renewing our movement,""
""We want every member to help shape the path forward as we prepare to choose our next Leader.""
The Ontario Liberal Party's executive council approved creation of a committee to consult with members, research best practices and provide recommendations on the upcoming leadership contest. Party president Kathryn McGarry said the party is rebuilding and wants every member to help shape the path forward as it prepares to choose a new leader. Bonnie Crombie resigned after receiving 57 per cent support in a mandatory leadership review following a disappointing third-place election result and a majority win for Premier Doug Ford. A campaign debrief criticized Crombie's strategy and communications, including focus on health care and allowing Ford to frame the campaign around U.S. tariff disputes. The committee will be chaired by treasurer Gabriel Sekaly, include McGarry and other members, and will survey party members about structuring the leadership election process.
