I secured a two-bedroom apartment on Calle del Pez in Malasaña, near Tribunal metro and about 20 minutes from the airport. The apartment had seven balconies and many glass doors with wooden shutters, offering natural light and small outdoor views ideal for coffee in pyjamas. My partner, a photographer, loved the light. We were greeted by our host, Mylene, who walked us through the house rules.
