Those who remember the Super Bowl in 2016 reminisce on social media about the free concerts along the Embarcadero, where Alicia Keys played. "So bummed everything is ultra expensive this year," one person wrote on Reddit."
"There will be traditional lion dancing and live performances that feature rapper Rudy Ibarra, official 49ers' DJ DJ E-ROCK, Filipino-Australian singer Ylona Garcia and the "glamorous grandmas" group Grant Avenue Follies. Come to hear panel discussions with AAPI chefs Francis Ang and Brandon Jew, the Michelin-starred chef at Mister Jiu's. Or more sports-related conversations with former athletes such as Olympic medalist Kristi Yamaguchi, former San Francisco 49ers player Jesse Sapolu"
San Francisco is seeing an influx of tourists for Super Bowl week, and some official events have high ticket prices, for example Benson Boone's general admission at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium costs $208 and a Super Bowl Experience ticket at Moscone Center costs at least $47. Many official events are ticketed, but several free options are available. The Chinatown Lunar New Year Block Party on Grant Avenue, hosted by BeChinatown, will feature lion dancing, performances by Rudy Ibarra, 49ers DJ E-ROCK, Ylona Garcia and Grant Avenue Follies, plus panels with chefs Francis Ang and Brandon Jew and sports conversations with Kristi Yamaguchi and Jesse Sapolu. Visual Field: Super Bowl LX in Dogpatch will showcase sports-themed work from 15 Bay Area artists; Brian Madden is hosting and has partnered with NFL and Nike.
