Sandie Peggie, a Scottish nurse, will appeal a tribunal judgment after a dispute over a trans doctor using women's changing rooms. Peggie was suspended following an exchange on Christmas Eve 2023 that allegedly included derogatory terms and offensive questions toward Dr Beth Upton, who alleged bullying and harassment. The tribunal upheld harassment claims against NHS Fife, finding the health board failed to revoke interim permission, delayed its investigation, referenced patient care allegations, and initially instructed Peggie not to discuss the case. The tribunal dismissed Peggie's claims of discrimination, indirect discrimination, and victimisation, and dismissed all claims against Dr Upton. Peggie and her legal team announced plans to lodge an appeal in the new year.
