Minehead bus crash victim died from head injuries on way home from school zoo trip

On 17 July, a coach carrying pupils and staff from Minehead Middle School crashed on Cutcombe Hill, resulting in the death of 10-year-old Oliver Price from head injuries. The bus, which was returning from Exmoor Zoo with around 60 to 70 occupants, left the A396, overturned, and slid down a 20ft slope. As a result of the accident, several individuals were injured; two children and three adults remained hospitalized while many others were discharged shortly after the incident. An off-duty firefighter helped to rescue trapped passengers immediately after the crash.

An off-duty firefighter arrived at the scene quickly and commenced the rescue of trapped passengers, while some injured children were discharged from the hospital.
