Starmer to raise Gaza situation in Trump meeting
Briefly

Keir Starmer intends to address the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza during a meeting with Donald Trump. Efforts to broker a ceasefire and facilitate hostage release have stalled due to the withdrawal of US and Israeli negotiators. Israel has started delivering minimal aid, but agencies highlight it is insufficient to combat malnutrition. Starmer's government is collaborating with Jordan to provide more aid and to evacuate critically ill children to the UK. The dire situation has led to rising casualties due to malnutrition in Gaza since an extensive blockade began in March.
The situation in Gaza is utterly horrifying and appalling. Starvation, access to food, must never be used as a means of war. It's completely unjustifiable and it must end.
Aid drops by air are not going to solve the problem of malnutrition. The Israeli government needs to lift restrictions so more aid can get into the territory.
