West London teacher banned over sexually inappropriate comments
"On one occasion, Mr Tanvir spoke about a woman being fingered by dirty fingernails. A pupil said: He was explaining how he had seen a TikTok where a woman expressed that she got a UTI/STI from someone fingering her with a dirty fingernail. Several students explained the situation in almost identical descriptions, with it said to have made the girls present extremely uncomfortable."
"Mr Tanvir denied this allegation, stating that he could not fathom speaking about this with friends or even family, let alone students. However, based on the consistency of accounts given by different students, and the volume of evidence, the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) concluded that Mr Tanvir did make these comments. The teacher hinted at pupils being improperly motivated in making this allegation, however the TRA found no evidence of this."
"On a separate occasion, Mr Tanvir referenced the size of a specific pupil's breasts when talking about weight and biological differences. Mr Tanvir said the only way he could get breasts without hormones would be by changing his diet, and as an example, pointed out Pupil B's breasts as being the difference between her (a woman) and him (a man)."
Mr Abu Tanvir, a teacher at William Perkin Church of England High School in Greenford, was found to have made sexually explicit comments in the presence of students on multiple occasions and has been banned from teaching. One incident involved a description of a woman being fingered with dirty fingernails and contracting a UTI/STI, which several pupils said made girls present extremely uncomfortable. Mr Tanvir denied the allegation, but the Teaching Regulation Agency concluded he made the comments based on consistent pupil accounts and supporting evidence. On another occasion he referenced a pupil's breasts while discussing weight and biological differences.
