Metropolitan and Greater Manchester police responded; officers arrived after reports at 09:31 BST and Greater Manchester Police declared a major incident by 09:37. High-visibility policing will be increased in and around synagogues in London, and additional police assets will be deployed at synagogues across the country. National leaders expressed shock, offered condolences to victims' loved ones, and thanked emergency services and first responders.
