Denny Hamlin plans to compete in the 2026 NASCAR season despite aggravating a torn labrum during a fall while searching the debris of a December house fire. The labrum had been surgically repaired in the 2023-24 offseason and did not heal properly, and imaging confirmed a retear. Hamlin intends to delay further surgery and race as the season begins with The Clash and the Daytona 500 on Feb. 15. The December fire heavily damaged the family home; his father, Dennis, later died from injuries and his mother, Mary Lou, was critically injured but is recovering and has traveled to Florida.
