Newton woman facing assault, kidnapping, other charges around alleged unlicensed cosmetic surgery in Allston
"Wang is also charged with unauthorized practice of medicine and improper use of the title of physician and receiving payment for a surgical procedure based on that misrepresentation, after she allegedly falsely advertised herself as a physician, Hayden's office said. In January 2020, Wang allegedly performed a double eyelid blepharoplasty on a 22-year-old woman in an apartment at 57 Brighton Ave. in Allston while not holding a physician's license, the DA said."
"The cosmetic procedure is meant to form an eyelid crease "resulting in a large and more symmetric, almond-shaped eye," says Stanford Medicine's website. During the surgery, Wang allegedly injected a local anesthetic and non-FDA-approved dermal fillers into the victim's eyelids, which caused permanent scarring, Hayden's office said. After Wang finished one eye, the victim was in such extreme pain she tried to leave the apartment building, prosecutors said."
Dingrui Wang, 34, faces multiple criminal charges including four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault causing serious injury, kidnapping, and larceny by false pretense. Prosecutors allege Wang falsely advertised herself as a physician and performed an unlicensed double eyelid blepharoplasty in January 2020 at an Allston apartment. The procedure allegedly involved injections of a local anesthetic and non‑FDA‑approved dermal fillers into the victim's eyelids, resulting in permanent scarring. The victim reportedly experienced extreme pain and was allegedly prevented from leaving until the surgery was completed. Wang is also accused of misrepresenting licenses on a loan application and receiving over $37,000 in loans.
