Ernesto Cruz, 54, allegedly stabbed his wife and 2-year-old daughter to death before attempting suicide. He has been charged with first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder. Law enforcement stated that Cruz was on a FaceTime call with his nephew during the incident, which prompted the nephew to call the police. Both victims were found unconscious and later pronounced dead at local hospitals. Cruz is recovering from self-inflicted stab wounds and remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
