
"San Diego police were looking for a gunman in Chollas View early Tuesday afternoon after he shot a teen in the leg and fled on a scooter. The shooting, which was reported around 12:30 p.m., occurred on 47th Street near Hilltop Drive, said police Lt. Travis Easter. The victim was an 18-year-old man who was transported to a hospital for treatment. No suspect was in custody, and police didn't say what led up to the shooting."
"The victim's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, Easter said. Schools in the area, including Gompers Preparatory Academy, Millennial Tech Middle, Horton Elementary and Chollas Mead Elementary, were put on lockdown as a precaution, he said. There's no indication this is a threat to the community, he said. It seems quite isolated. As of 2:40 p.m., the lockdowns were lifted at Horton and Chollas Mead, a San Diego Unified spokesperson said."
