Anti-ICE protesters led by paid activists march across NYC in latest push against immigration enforcement
""Say it loud. Say it clear. Immigrants are welcome here.""
""We say 'no' to Trump's disgusting deportation agenda," said Councilwoman Alexa Aviles (D-Brooklyn) "We know what he is doing with ICE. It's terrible, and it is violent. It is unlawful, and it is not what our country stands for. So we are here to say 'no to ICE.""
""The carnage in Dallas, Texas - where a maniac with " ANTI-ICE" ammo gunned down an ICE field office in an attack clearly targeted at ICE personnel - lays bare the deadly consequences of Democrats' unhinged crusade against our border enforcement," said the White House in a statement Friday."
"Trump on Saturday ordered the Department of War to dispatch "all necessary" troops to Portland, Oregon, to secure the city and safeguard Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel amid a surge of anti-ICE protests there."
More than 200 people marched in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, to protest President Donald Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration. The march included left-leaning elected officials and paid activists chanting in English and Spanish and carrying signs reading "Families belong together" and "Protect immigrants." Councilwoman Alexa Aviles condemned ICE actions as terrible, violent, unlawful, and contrary to national values and led calls to say "no to ICE." Similar rallies occurred in Manhattan and Queens with no arrests reported by the NYPD. An anti-ICE gunman attacked a Dallas ICE facility, killing one migrant and wounding two others. The White House linked the attack to political rhetoric, and Trump ordered "all necessary" troops to Portland to protect ICE personnel.
