Indiana senators voted down a congressional map designed to give Republicans a 9-0 advantage, with 21 Republicans joining 10 Democrats to defeat the measure. The map had been lobbied for by Donald Trump to help the GOP retain the House in next year's midterms. Senate President Pro Tempore Rod Bray was among the Republican opponents. After the vote, Trump spoke in the Oval Office, highlighted his past landslide victories in Indiana, and pledged to support a primary challenge to Bray. Trump described Bray's opposition as a tremendous disservice and predicted Bray would likely lose a future primary.
