She fled Cuba for asylum then was snatched from a US immigration courtroom
Briefly

Jerome traveled from California to Texas to support Jenny, a 25-year-old Cuban asylum seeker. Jenny had entered the U.S. legally under a program later terminated. A few days before her immigration hearing, her court date was unexpectedly changed. During her hearing, a government attorney sought to dismiss her case. Fortunately, the judge acknowledged her asylum pursuit and scheduled a new hearing. However, as Jenny left the courtroom, she was confronted by agents who detained her despite her legal status, leaving Jerome distressed and helpless in the situation.
"Instead, the judge noted that Jenny was pursuing an asylum claim and scheduled her for another court date in August 2026—the best possible outcome."
"I said, 'She's legal. She's here legally. And you guys just don't care, do you? Nobody cares about this.'"
