Campaign contributions from lawyers and staff at the nation's 100 top-grossing law firms and 50 larger plaintiffs-side firms were heavily weighted toward Democrats in 2023 and 2024. Ninety-two point forty-five percent of contributions from those employees went to Democratic-affiliated candidates and organizations, representing roughly $52 million versus about $4 million to Republican-affiliated groups. The Democratic-to-Republican contribution ratio for 2023–2024 reached roughly 12-to-1, up from about 6-to-1 in 2017–2020. The analysis counted donations to presidential campaigns, major party committees, and aggregators of campaign contributions. Several top firms showed near-unanimous Democratic support, with multiple firms at or above 99 percent Democratic contributions.
