AMD's FSR 4 upscaling is exclusive to 90-series Radeon GPUs, won't work on other cards
"AMD's new Radeon RX 90-series cards, launching March 5, feature the RDNA4 architecture and a new version of FidelityFX Super Resolution for enhanced upscaling."
"FSR aims to take lower-resolution images, enhance them, and fill pixel gaps to create visuals that resemble those rendered at native resolution."
AMD is set to release its Radeon RX 90-series graphics cards featuring the RDNA4 architecture on March 5, which will introduce a new version of its FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) technology. FSR competes with Nvidia's DLSS by utilizing machine-learning algorithms to upscale images, particularly benefiting users with older GPUs connected to 4K monitors. Unlike previous iterations of FSR, the new FSR 4 can leverage hardware capabilities from RDNA4 for improved image quality, similar to Nvidia's approach with its RTX GPUs, but requires compatible hardware to function.
