Activision has sued Ryan Rothholz, known as 'Lerggy,' over his creation of cheating software called 'Lergware' for 'Call of Duty,' which enabled players to kick opponents offline. Despite a cease and desist notice from Activision in June 2023, Rothholz allegedly rebranded as 'Joker,' shared source code of 'Lergware,' and worked on a new iteration called 'GameHook.' This latest cheat allowed players to see through walls and auto-aim. Activision claims such cheats harm their reputation and disengage legitimate gamers.
