The Nintendo Switch 2 will debut with 256 GB of internal storage, providing eight times the storage of its predecessor. However, due to the system's software requirements, users will actually have around 228-230 GB available after installation and data transfer. Following the complete reinstallation of games, users can still expect to retain about 160 GB for additional games. Furthermore, the new system supports microSD Express cards for expanded storage, allowing users to easily increase their available space at a reasonable cost.
After installing the system update and transferring Switch data to Switch 2, the available storage displayed approximately 228 GB to 230 GB.
Switch 2 storage can be expanded with microSD Express cards, so if 256 GB seems meager to you, available storage can quickly be doubled.
