iFixit Says Switch 2 Is Probably Still Drift Prone
Briefly

The Nintendo Switch 2 has launched this week, showcasing enhancements such as a better display, upgraded specifications, and improved controller accessibility. However, repairability experts at iFixit note that it is more difficult to fix than the original model, with a repairability score of 3 out of 10. Concerns about joystick drift persist, as the newly designed Joy-Con controllers have not addressed the underlying technology issues. Despite being difficult to repair, owners might have to rely more on third-party replacements for joystick issues.
"From what we can tell, the redesign didn't include a revision to the core tech that causes joystick drift... the best fix is going to come from third-party replacements again."
"Whatever tech they use ... joysticks are a high-wear component. They can still break in a drop, even if they never suffer from drift."
