Octopath Traveler 0 features 36 playable characters, vastly expanding party options. Players can bring eight characters into battle, enabling diverse team compositions. Six characters emerge as elite choices for most parties. Alfyn functions as a potent hybrid healer and front-row tank whose HP can be increased dramatically and who can revive allies with Vivify. Alfyn's Vigorous Strike scales with remaining HP and, with a strong axe, can deal about 5000 damage to unbroken enemies and 9999 to broken ones. Laurana acts as the best Cleric, recruitable early by rebuilding Wishvale and advancing the Kindlers of the Flame storyline; her Ethereal Healing restores HP for multiple turns to an entire row.
