As the June 5 launch of the Switch 2 approaches, early footage has emerged online showcasing its features. A Russian fan shared nearly 10 minutes of content, including its startup and menu. Key points from the video revealed limited menu themes, HDR calibration in handheld mode, and that the firmware version is 19.0.0.0. With the need for a day-one update, it remains uncertain regarding backward compatibility with Switch 1 games. While anticipation builds, official confirmation from Nintendo is still pending.
"Respects to this man for sacrificing his life to unbox the console a week before launch," reads the top comment on YouTube.
The leaker did answer as many fan questions as he could, and said a second video is on its way.
While early players have reported not being able to run Switch 1 games on the new hardware, it's not clear yet if that means Switch 2 games won't work right out of the box.
HDR calibration does exist in handheld mode, which may enhance gaming experiences on the Switch 2.
