"The horse that you choose here will be your permanent mount for the remainder of the campaign. To be clear, there doesn't seem to be a major difference among these mounts. You won't experience any advantage--or disadvantage--regardless of your decision. You do get to name your horse, too: Shimaki (Tornado) Mochizuki (Full Moon) - This was what we chose because it sounded coolest. Homura (Flame)"
"When the flashback ends, you'll be back at the present. Atsu will whistle and cause four horses to gallop to the clearing. This is when you'll be able to choose a horse in Ghost of Yotei. Here are the options: Dapple Horse Black Horse White Horse Brown Horse - Note that this only appears as an option if you own the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game."
After the flashback ends, Atsu whistles and four horses arrive, allowing selection of a permanent mount for the remainder of the campaign. Available mounts are Dapple, Black, White, and Brown, with the Brown horse available only to Digital Deluxe Edition owners. Mount choice is purely cosmetic and confers no gameplay advantages or disadvantages. Players may name their horse using options such as Shimaki (Tornado), Mochizuki (Full Moon), or Homura (Flame). Completing the Old Trails quest unlocks the 'Naming a Friend' trophy. Inspecting the tree trunk from Atsu's flashback grants the Charm of Bountiful Harvest, increasing forage yields.
