WoW Might Be Getting Official Wedding Ceremonies
"As spotted by Wowhead, Blizzard released a new housing early access trailer to celebrate the launch of what is one of the game's most-requested features. About halfway through the trailer, Blizzard invites players to "make new memories" and shows an outdoor wedding ceremony complete with fireworks and a wedding ring. That might not be much just taken on its own. After all, players have held unofficial role-play weddings in WoW since its earliest days."
"In Square Enix's MMO, players can sign up for the game's Eternal Bonding ceremony, which grants special wedding ceremony outfits, hairstyles, a ring, an exclusive wedding venue, special emote, and even options when it comes to what kind of ceremony or officiant a couple may want. While the basic ceremony is free, couples who want more customization options (and an exclusive wedding chocobo) can pay $10 or $20 per person for more expensive wedding packages."
Blizzard released a housing early access trailer that shows an outdoor wedding ceremony complete with fireworks and a wedding ring and invites players to "make new memories". The official Warcraft account responded to a viewer asking if weddings were being announced with a cheeky reply: "It won't be a secret anymore if you tell everyone in this comment section.". Player housing and neighborhood systems aim to create social experiences, and official weddings would fit by enabling players to invite friends and family. Unofficial role-play weddings already occur in WoW. Final Fantasy XIV offers an Eternal Bonding ceremony with outfits, rings, venues, emotes, and optional paid packages. Whether Blizzard will sell wedding packages is unclear.
