Martin Fehervary becomes a believer in 'Dad Strength' after scoring in first game following daughter's birth
""First goal as a dad!""
""I would like to give [the goal puck] to her," Fehervary said. "And, obviously, my girlfriend, Natalia, she's done a really amazing job. So I feel really amazing, you know, score one right after I miss the game because of my daughter.""
""Some of the guys called it even before," Fehervary revealed. "They said, 'There's something in dad's power.' You know, like they scored a couple (goals) right after (too). So I guess it is somewhere.""
Martin Fehervary missed the Capitals' 4-3 overtime win over the Hurricanes because his girlfriend, Natalia Levius, gave birth to their daughter Anna shortly after the first period. Fehervary returned for the next game and scored 5:29 into the second period, sending a snap shot past David Rittich to tie the game 1-1, his fourth goal of the season. John Carlson retrieved the goal puck and the team presented it to Fehervary after the game. Fehervary called the moment really special, praised his girlfriend for her effort, and embraced the idea of "Dad Strength."
