Postgamer #42: Power surge fuels Nats in rout of Cincinnati: A recap | TalkNats.com
"Unfortunately for the Nationals, Miles Mikolas would meet that same fate in the bottom of the fourth. After allowing each of the first three batters to reach base, Mikolas surrendered his first run of the night on an RBI groundout by Matt McLain, cutting the lead to 3-1. After another walk to load the bases back up, Blake Butera pulled the plug and went to Brad Lord to try and get out of the jam and give the staff some length."
Washington opened the scoring early against Brady Singer with long balls from James Wood and Luis Garcia, followed by Daylen Lile adding a 415-foot home run in the fourth inning. The Nationals built a 3-0 lead and knocked Singer out after 3.2 innings. Miles Mikolas matched the early scoreless start, but allowed his first run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI groundout by Matt McLain. After additional baserunners loaded the bases, the Nationals turned to Brad Lord to escape the jam and provide bullpen length. Multi-inning efforts from Mikolas, Lord, and Paxton Schultz supported the win in the first game of a three-game series in Cincinnati.
