"To be able to play my last games of my career here in this ballpark in front of these fans is just the icing on the cake,"
"It's been my dream and I've really enjoyed it,"
"I'll miss it."
Michael A. Taylor announced his retirement before the White Sox season finale, ending a 12-year MLB career. Taylor won a Gold Glove in 2021 and identifies playing on the Nationals' 2019 World Series champions as his favorite memory. Taylor played for Washington (2014-20), Kansas City (2021-22), Minnesota (2023), Pittsburgh (2024) and signed with the White Sox in February. Taylor decided months earlier to retire to spend more time with his two young children. He finished the season hitting .199 with nine homers and 34 RBIs and entered the day with a career .232 average, 109 homers and 128 stolen bases.
