During her performance at the Mighty Hoopla music festival, Kate Nash passionately addressed social media trolls, criticizing transphobia among some feminist voices. Her remarks led into the release of her new single "GERM", a critique of trans-exclusionary radical feminism. Nash highlighted the real dangers women face, particularly from violence by cisgender men, while affirming support for trans rights. In an interview, she recounted some of the misogynistic trolling she's faced since the song's release but stated she refuses to take the negativity seriously.
"If you think you can troll Kate Nash out of having an opinion, then bring it the f*** on!" Nash challenged critics at the Mighty Hoopla festival.
"Some of the loudest feminist voices in the UK today are transphobic. But dinosaurs will die," she stated, before performing her song 'GERM'.
Nash described TERF ideology in her new song 'GERM' as "Girl, Exclusionary, Regressive, Misogynist", highlighting the real dangers women face from violence.
In response to trolls, Nash recounted their abuse: "You're writing me poems and calling me an old hag... I can't really take any of this seriously."
