Tara Reynor O'Reilly, from Valleymount in Co Wicklow and president of No Peace Without Justice, was detained by the Israeli navy after flotilla boats were intercepted in international waters while heading toward the Gaza Strip. The detained volunteers included Swedish climate campaigner Greta Thunberg. Independent Wicklow councillor Gerry O'Neill last communicated with Tara by text three days before her detention and reported she described drones dropping explosives beside their boat. Contact was lost after boarding, phones were likely confiscated, and Tara sought strong Irish Government support for aid delivery to starving people in Gaza.
