The Bondi Beach attack killed fifteen people at a Hanukah event and wounded twenty-two, with three in critical condition and others stable. The attack is being investigated as an act of terrorism targeting the Jewish community. The alleged gunman shot dead at the scene was originally from Hyderabad; his family in the city appeared unaware of any radical mindset. The second alleged gunman has awoken from a coma and may face charges imminently. Funerals will be held for victims including Rabbi Eli Schlanger and Rabbi Yaakov Levitan, with Schlanger's funeral at the Chabad of Bondi near the attack site. One suspect, Sajid Akram, moved to Australia in 1998, married and travelled to India multiple times but reportedly left after his father's death.
