"He is sheltering at the overcrowded Renk transit centre near the border, alongside more than 1,000 fellow nationals. After seeing the bodies of his mother and two sisters, Dafallah stepped outside, to see another of his sisters being taken away by RSF fighters. One hit him with the butt of his rifle as he tried to stop them. Dafallah's sister cried out his name as she was put inside a car and tied up."
Suba Dafallah fled Nyala after Rapid Support Forces attacked a military camp and rampaged through residential areas in South Darfur. He discovered his mother and two sisters shot dead in their Al-Jir neighbourhood home and witnessed another sister abducted by RSF fighters. He was struck with the butt of a rifle while trying to stop the abduction, then pursued the vehicle before collapsing. He buried his family members and undertook an 800-plus-mile flight to Renk, taking only the clothes on his back. The Renk transit centre is overcrowded with more than 1,000 Sudanese refugees. RSF fighters also attacked an IDP camp, burning a market and looting.
