Israel Raids Global Sumud Flotilla, Abducts Over 400 Volunteers, Group Says

Israeli soldiers raided more than a dozen civilian boats of the Global Sumud Flotilla, blocked ship communications, and seized over 400 volunteers from 47 countries. Volunteers endured water cannon attacks and were doused with "skunk water" during the operation. Many of the volunteers were transferred to the naval vessel MSC Johannesburg, while lawyers representing them have received only minimal updates about their status. The flotilla carried baby formula, medicine, and prosthetic limbs to Gaza, where there is a high incidence of child amputees. Supporters staged solidarity actions, and the flotilla had been attacked multiple times en route.
