Mass starvation spreading across Gaza, aid agencies warn, as pressure on Israel grows Middle East crisis live
Briefly

More than 100 aid organizations have warned of mass starvation in Gaza, where over two million people suffer from severe shortages of food and essentials after 21 months of conflict. The UN reported that Israeli forces killed over 1,000 Palestinians attempting to access food aid. Humanitarian groups called for a ceasefire, the opening of land crossings, and the free flow of aid. They emphasized that their supplies are blocked from reaching those in need, and the humanitarian system cannot function on unfulfilled political commitments.
A statement with 111 signatories, including Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Save the Children and Oxfam, warned that our colleagues and those we serve are wasting away.
The humanitarian organisations said that warehouses with tonnes of supplies were sitting untouched just outside the territory, and even inside, as they were blocked from accessing or delivering the goods.
