Carlos Yulo won Olympic gold for his floor routine on Aug. 3, 2024, and won gold on the vault less than 24 hours later, becoming the Philippines' first male Olympic gold medalist and the country's first two-time gold medalist. Megaworld Corp. had promised a two-bedroom condo and upgraded the reward to a fully furnished three-bedroom condo valued at $553,345 (32 million PHP) in the McKinley Hill township. Megaworld also gifted an additional $51,900 (3 million PHP) in cash. The government awarded $173,000 (10 million PHP) per gold medalist and the House gave $103,700 (6 million PHP). Manila prepared a hero's welcome, and businesses contributed additional gifts including ramen, restaurant meals, and lifetime colonoscopies.
