Fighting has killed at least 25 soldiers and civilians and displaced over half a million people on both sides. Forces began an early-morning operation in Trat with heavy clashes described under principles of self-defence and preservation of national sovereignty. Thai forces asserted control of the area, planted the national flag, and reported continued operations and sporadic clashes along the border. The Cambodian military has not yet issued a statement regarding the latest incidents.
