The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has released an annual report highlighting the world's most neglected displacement crises. Cameroon has been identified as the most critical situation, with both low media attention and insufficient political will to address its internal conflicts. The report reveals that Cameroon suffers from multiple crises, resulting in significant internal displacement and a high number of refugees. Despite the urgency, it scores poorly on receiving necessary funding and international support, exacerbating the plight of millions affected by ongoing conflicts since 2017.
Cameroon is a case study in global neglect, scoring shamefully low on all three criteria, NRC spokesperson Laila Matar told DW.
