A Traditional Olive Green Kitchen in an East London Townhouse Remodel: Steal This Look
"When couple Paul West and Michelle Bower began renovating their 1717 East London townhouse, they took on a full transformation of a basement kitchen. The kitchen they started with "wasn't in good working order," Paul describes, so they enlisted UK kitchen design company deVol to see out their vision. Here we've profiled the key elements, from paint colors down to cabinet hardware and pottery, that make up the moody, earth-toned look."
"Above: Among the couple's collection of pottery, seen on the antique baker's rack at left, are pieces from Hasami Porcelain, Made in Cley, Pottery West, Jess Jos, and Skye Corewijn. A full basement kitchen transformation converted a nonfunctional kitchen into a moody, earth-toned culinary and dining space. deVol designed bespoke Real Shaker wall cabinets and a marble-topped worktable from the Classic English Kitchen collection. A vintage Welsh dresser serves as crockery display in the dining area while an antique baker's rack displays a curated pottery collection. Original architectural details preserved include Marmorino plaster walls and 200-year-old French smoked oak floors that were sanded and treated to expose the grain. Pottery pieces include Hasami Porcelain, Made in Cley, Pottery West, Jess Jos, and Skye Corewijn. The deVol Shaker cabinets are painted in Farrow & Ball x Liberty Archive Color Pantalon No. 221.
